RichRelevance On vs Off

Overview 

Step by step instructions to help you create new Multivariate Tests (MVTs).

Create/Edit MVT

  1. On the Algonomy Omnichannel Personalization dashboard, go to Optimization > MVT.

  2. A list of active and future tests are displayed.

  3. From the drop-down list on the upper left, select the type of test you want to create, then click Create Test.

  4. Give your test a name and a description that will let other users understand what the test is doing. Neither of these will be visible to the customer.

  5. Specify the Start Date of the test. This is the date when the test will become active on the website.

  6. The End Date can be specified, or you can click the box beside No End Date.

    Note: Once a test has begun (today is greater or equal to the start date), you cannot make any changes.

  7. Select the checkbox Concurrent if you want to create tests that can run in parallel without affecting any of the merchant's traffic.

  8. Choose the percentage of traffic to assign to the test.
  1. In the Configure Treatments section, click Add Treatment.

  2. In the Add Treatment dialog box, name the treatment and indicate what percentage of the traffic the treatment will use.

  3. Enter the Treatment JavaScript (not normally needed).

  4. Choose which test you want to run; RichRelevance On, RichRelevance Off or RichRelevance On with Simple Strategies.

    1. In the "RichRelevance On" treatment, the site will operate normally with all the Algonomy Omnichannel Personalization features operating as normally configured.

    2. In the "RichRelevance On with Simple Strategies" treatment, for any Recommend placements, recs will only come from a small set of Top Seller and Top Product strategies.

    3. In the "RichRelevance Off" treatment, no Algonomy Omnichannel Personalization functionality will be surfaced at all. Note that this can affect the way that the client site looks - since some placements will just be missing, content from further down the page will be moved up.

  5. Click Save.

The test will be available on your site within 30 minutes. The test will not be visible to customers until the start date.

Note: On the MVT Report Page you will have the option to remove outliers from the test result.
